Reflective Supervision

Reflective Supervision

I have been a participant in individual and group reflective supervision for many years and have benefited from the mentoring and support from some of the grandmothers and grandfathers of our IECHMH field. It has and continues to be a cherished part of my role as a helper and human.

And my learning and listening continues. While I am grateful for the deep history of infant mental health in Michigan, I am also thankful for the intentional work being done in recent years to decolonize our lenses, teams and approaches.

Today I continue to participate in individual reflective supervision and monthly peer supervision with fellow infant mental health mentor colleagues.

I offer individual and group reflective supervision which meets the requirements for endorsement through the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health and the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health.  Meetings can be in-person or via video conference.

My reflective supervision approach is rooted in:

  • A developmental, relational lens - grounded in attachment theory and infant mental health principles.

  • Interpersonal neurobiology and nervous system science—understanding the importance of regulation, connection and felt safety within our own systems and for our clients. The roles of attunement and resonance in creating therapeutic spaces for growth and change to immerge.

  • Lived experience—as an adoptee, adoptive parent, and longtime reflective practitioner, I bring a layered understanding of identity, relational rupture and repair, and the complexity of holding multiple truths at once.

  • A commitment to curiosity, humility, and ongoing self-reflection —creating space to honor the context and wisdom each supervisee, baby and caregiver bring to interactions and relationships.

Whether you’re seeking a place to deepen your reflective capacity, process the emotional complexity of your work, or think through parallel processes in relationships with clients, families, and systems—I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
