From an early age I have been drawn to working with babies, young children and their families. Over the years my roles evolved from nanny
and preschool teacher to therapist, consultant, trainer and supervisor. Throughout my professional journey my passion has been to promote and support strong, healthy relationships between parents and caregivers and their young children.
After working as a therapist for several years with young children and parents who had often experienced multiple traumas, I began exploring ways to bring more joy and connection to families and into my work. In 2003 I was trained and certified as a infant massage parent educator (CEIM) and as a Kindermusik educator. Intentional touch, play, movement, and music are powerful ways for families, babies and children to connect, heal and grow.
Beyond formal education and training, I bring an intimate understanding
of the impact of early experiences from my own childhood experiences
with adoption, divorce and the blending of families. Reflecting on and
embracing these experiences has allowed me to appreciate the many ways that families are formed and ultimately, the healing power of relationships!
I continually strive to broaden my knowledge-base and integrate an understanding of brain development, sensory and emotion regulation, relationship
development, attachment, trauma, loss, complementary therapies, diet and health into my work.
Overall, my goal is to be a resource and coach to parents and caregivers who are seeking to strengthen their connection with their children and find greater joy within their parenting role.
